16 Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves (one devoted to another to the disregard of his own interests) of God. 17 Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king. 1 Peter 2: 16,17
So do we honor the Muslim, too? The Hindu and Communist? Even a Democrat!?

Depends on what you define honor as? Is honoring someone bestowing awards or bringing attention to them in a positive light based on their accomplishment and skill sets or is honoring someone simply treating them in equality and respecting their humanity and understanding God's love for them is the same as his love for you. There is difference between be-friending a non believer and treating them in love and respect and starting a deeply bonded friendship with a non believer that has potential to leak non Christ like spirits into your life.
I regard friendship and respecting someone's humanity as separate issues.
Thanks for stopping by, Jesse.
Honor frequently becomes about right and wrong, agreement or disagreement. Those motives are not born of love, but are bound up in how I feel about myself. Am I ok?
I say, true honor must be separate from alignment with what I happen to believe at the moment. Loving people just because they have flesh and blood is the central message of Christ.
Amen, Jim.
